We offer 3 types of steering systems, traditional, proportional and Z-drive.

Traditional
Traditional systems are also known as “bang-bang” steering systems. They work by activating solenoids which open and close a valve. This rapid movement of hydraulic fluid results in the "bang." These systems are simple, robust, and are a perfect match for work boats.
Proportional
Contrary to traditional systems, proportional steering uses precise valves to move the hydraulic cylinders. Using an analog voltage (compared to discete digital voltages), the cylinders accellerate to full speed and decellerate. This results in smoother, more precise control and increases the life span of the various mechanical steering parts. These systems are recommended for larger, ocean bound vessels.
Z-Drive
More information about Z-Drive Systems and their benefits can be found here.
